About us

A house, a family, a sierra.

Mónica and her family opened Tía Margot in a traditional house on Calle Mayor. They restored it carefully, keeping the stone, the chestnut wood and the memory. Today it is eight rooms and a small team who greet guests as if they were coming home for lunch.

Candelario is one of Spain’s prettiest villages and a listed historic site. It sits at 1,100 m above sea level, leaning onto the Sierra de Candelario, inside a protected nature reserve with peaks above 2,400 m, oak and chestnut forests, and snow most of the winter.

The "regaderas" — water channels that carry the snowmelt down from the top — have run alongside the streets for centuries. It’s the first sound you hear when you open the window.

"Tía Margot" was a beloved member of our family, tied to this house. We gave the hotel her name because we want every guest to feel welcomed the way she welcomed people.

We have eight rooms and a small dining room where we serve breakfast. We welcome your furry companions warmly. We speak Spanish, English, French and a bit of Portuguese.
